thanks doods.

now that I've had my new civic for a while, I can report that I'm getting about 35 mpg driving mainly in the city (like a madman).

and the handling is pretty startling for an "econobox," because it handles so well.

my only real grievance is the shifter/accelerator feel.

the shifter is kinda notchy for a honda (no deal killer) but the pedal is hinged at the bottom instead of from the top. It's going to take some time to get used to.

but once you get going, the car hustles down the road pretty quick.

the stereo is LOUD, and the car is also a chick magnet...

Yea, i know what you mean with the handling. My girlfriends sister drove mine and was freaking out on how much it would spank her cavalier in a race and the twisties. But Ive also got struts so that might make more of a difference.

On my first tank of gas I got 33 mpg. I thought it would be a little better. Does it get better after break in? Hope so.

I've had my '06 Civic for about two weeks. Black with Ivory interior. Had the interior leathered - love it! Haven't seen any others on the road here in South Florida.

I've only seen 3 on the road in 5 weeks. 2 coupes and 1 sedan.

A guy i know said that he got his Corolla with a Corolla Type-S motor (i know its a corolla). I was wonderin if it was possible to get a sedan with a SI motor, aparantly Toyota does it.

Don't quote me on this but i dont think you can, you might be able to get an EX sedan. The Corolla your friend has is probably the XRS they only make sedan Corollas anyway, they havent made a Corolla in a coupe since 91. Toyota seems to think that if someone wants a coupe they will buy the Celica. Which in turn is still a nice rig, but i still think they should make a coupe Corolla
