new belts - is there enough space in there ?
Hi guys,
Am planning to do new belts (timing and pwr strng), and just planning it now, but I glanced across the driv side tire, into the small space under there, and wow, it appears as if there is some type of metal shield obstructing the upper half of the pulleys, limiting possibly how much room one has to unbolt stuff and maneuver. Should I be concerned with this? (01 civic ex)
Thanks!
Joe

i would go ahead and do all the belts if you are going to do them, they are cheap. but anyways it not that hard, but you do have to disconnect the motor mount to change the timing belt, that would be the hardest part and it not that bad, just disconnect and jack the motor up enough to get it out and the new one in. i think you are talking about the engine bay, the metal that is blocking the top of the pulley, with my 98 ex you can get the belts by there so you should be fine
