New Civic - 2007 or wait for 2008s?
This is a post regarding advice on strategy for buying a new Civic (if off topic, and can suggest somewhere else to post, I'd appreciate it).
Looking at 2007 Civic EX's, and need advice on whether to buy now or wait a few months for '08s (assuming they arrive soon). Honda is offering cheaper financing now,and I calculated it would save me about $750 over 3 years as compared to a conventional car loan. Any news on when '08s come out, or what month Honda traditionally releases the new model year?
I have another car I can drive for a few months, and would rather not buy now just to get better financing if that means the '07 Civicdrops significantly in value the instant the '08s come out. Plus, I was hoping maybe additional colors might be offered in the '08 edition. Any advice is appreciated.

Well, I can tell you one thing, they are not giving really good deals on the one of the highest rated, award winning cars. I don't know if the 08's would be any different, but you could wait until they come out and then see if you like themand the colors and then possibly youcan find a dealer that would sell you an 07 at abetter price.
They are such highly rated cars it is hard to make any deal with them.
I think I paid 500.00 under invoice and they told me that there was no dealing on the car. I had to deal on my trade.
Good luck.
Oh, I love my 06 Civic LX Coupe. If I would have known how much I like it now I would got if fully loaded.

"Invoice" is a meaningless number to the car buyer. If the dealer bought only one car, the invoice price is what he would pay. However, dealersbuya batch ofcars at one time and get a significant reduction on the price they pay per vehicle. Use that "Invoice " price as a reference only.

I talked to a friend of mine, who works forHonda, and he said that the Civic isn't changing for 08 but he doesn't know if there will be new colors or not, he is guessing not. If you still want to wait for the 08 model it won't be out until September sometime.
