d16z6 (ex version) is the better of the other models (dx/lx/cx) for 92-95's, so to answer your question it's good. comparing to the 96-00's models (dx/lx/cx) it's better, but the d16y8 has slightly more hp.
and did your brother actually see the stamp on the car stating it was?

lol im not driving that car until i get it fixed completely.. i have a 1998 mustang cobra i drive most of the time. what you see in the pictures is what i have as of the minute i got home with that car yesterday, ive got alot of work ahead of me as far as this car, but hopefully it'll all work out. plus, the door is there, it just has a huge crack in the fiberglass
im pretty good with cars, its just hard to understand a 4 cyl. import when all you've ever worked on is a 5.0 v8 lol
ill probably have a million questions to ask before its over. :P
and im from texas by the way, but its still pretty cold here.

It's definitely not a Z6. Any SOHC VTEC engine has the spark plug wires on the front.
Should be a D15B7.
Looks like you've got a lot of work to do... the only thing bearable on the car are the headlights and to me saying that is a stretch . The rims are okay in design but much too big.
Convert the exterior to stock, go from there.
And no, it's not fast. It seems fast because it's probably loud.

yeah its a d15b7 and the other number was 9m-9
eh its not really a big deal if its not fast really. i payed 150 for the car... so i dont feel like i lost much. lol
that engine doesnt have potential to be fast at all?

It does. Your best starting mod is to swap a VTEC head (D16Z6 is your best bet, and the best D-series head) onto it, which is called a mini-me swap. This will bump the power by ~23 BHP, essentially producing the same results as a regular D16Z6. It will have .1 L less displacement still but the added compression and VTEC will make up for the displacement and then some, giving you around 125 BHP. Then from there all mods are a little more worth it. Your best option for power is to turbocharge it.
With the head swap, a fully built engine, and a huge turbocharger setup, it has the potential to have ~700 WHP (which I don't think you are looking to do but i'm just saying it's possible). D-series engines are pretty decent (not as good as their DOHC counterparts of course though), most people just talk them down.

yeah, do you know how much a vtec head usually costs used?
and im looking to mod this car quite a bit, but probably not going for
700 hp.
maybe high 300's to low 400's is as far as id push for, depending on how my budget looks in the next couple months..
and just wondering, not to offend anyone at all..
but why do you guys all hate body kits so much?
i wouldnt spend extra money to put a body kit on my car but
why go buy new bumpers just to make my car look stock?
