I am pretty sure a D16B does not exist... probably a typo wherever you read that.
If there is one, I still wouldn't use it, because it's apparently so rare that I haven't even heard of it, that the parts are probably really rare and info on it is probably hard to find.
a ZC is not a D16Z6. A ZC does not have VTEC, a D16Z6 does. There are also other differences. And it's not called a D16ZC either, it's a D16A8 or D16A9 (SOHC ZC) or a D16A1 (DOHC ZC). I wouldn't put a ZC in an OBD1 car, such as yours. This is also, though not that big of a deal, illegal, as you cannot swap an engine older than the car it is going into.
You're better off going with either a D16Z6 or a JDM D15B. There are a few weird things about the D15B, so for ease of maintenance, I would go with a D16Z6 in your situation. Owning and maintaining a D15B requires a lot of knowledge, because a lot of the parts on it are odd-ball parts with OEM Japan Honda part numbers that do not exist in the US, and you have to figure out which US part is equivalent to it when buying replacement parts. This is knowledge that most mechanics will not have either, so getting engine work done at a shop is largely out of the picture. Since a D16Z6 came in a US model Civic, there is abundant information, parts, and knowledge of this engine and it will be less frustrating.
NEED4SPEED, the JDM D15B is very slightly "better" than the D16Z6.
Chrismag, the specs you posted for the JDM D15B are not correct. There are 4 different JDM D15B engines. The non-VTEC, which comes in the cars listed in your post but do not have those specs; the VTEC, which came in different cars than what was listed but has those specs (130 HP, etc.); the VTEC-E, which is pretty rare and I am unaware of the information on it; and the 3-stage VTEC.
You guys really shouldn't try answering questions if you can't provide even remotely accurate information.

ok, more so of what chrismag said. The info he posted is a hella confusing wall of text with some incorrect information.

to swap in the d16z6 which is your best bet, you will need:
complete d16z6 motor and the ecu (its called a p28) these motors are in any 92-95 ex or si civic. your trans and everything bolts up to it. the only thing you will need to do is run 2 wires from the ecu to you vtec solnoid and oil pressure sensor.
