Default new purchase

I have an opportunity to buy a new 2007 civic ES. 5-speed stick, power windows, cd player, sunroof, etc etc. dealer price negotiated down to $16,400. Opinions, please, on the price. Thanks from a newbie!

you mean 07 civic ex?

if it's new I would say that's probably the lowest price you're going to find for that year model. I'm searching for prices of used 07 ex's and most are going for more than what the dealer is offering you FOR A NEW EX

ES, or EX? I think that is a pretty fair price. If you want a good comparison you should go to honda.com and build your own civic with acessories and what not and it will give the MSRP.

Yea, but the anyone who pays msrp is a freakin retard, so that's not really a good way to judge
Try kbb. How many miles are on it? Previous owners? Was it just a leased car, or did someone just trade it in?

Its an EX sorry for the typo. Thanks to all who replied. The car is a 2007 leftover, brand new, in the galaxy grey color. Its gorgeous. Do any of you think I can get even more off the price? Probably not, eh? Thanks again. I will get it tomorrow.

It depends how long you will keep the car. If you were to sell it in near future, you will competing with cars that haven't depreciated with a newer model year. Check the prices with the 2008 models if the price you're getting is significant lower then buy the 2007 model.

I tried to get the dealer to go below 16K but he would not budge. agreed to $16,300. i saw on the internet that the new 2008s are priced the same at his dealership and the salesman said those wouldnt be discounted as much as the new 2007 i was looking at. so i gave in. i'm happy. the fact that its a honda makes me feel content in that it is a reliable and safe car for a good price new i think. i drive about 8,000 miles a year only so i fully expect the car to last me easily 12 to 15 yrs at worst. Driving this 5-speed stick and having the sunroof open this spring and summer will make this 59 yr old feel young again! Thanks to all who repsonded!
