Default newbie lowering Q

If i wanted to lower my car 1" to 1.5" could i just buy springs like Skunk 2 or Tein ones? im assuming they replace the stock springs on the shocks. If so it seems like a nice deal for $100sum bucks.

Yup, stock shocks will do just fine with a 1-1.5" drop. Might I ask which ones you're looking at for your car?
