Default nood needs help

ok i have a 89 civic hatch with efi i was told it was a dx and it had a d-15 in it but i just cleaned it and it ses ZC idn what the diffrence is kus i want put a 4-injector set up didnt no what i had to do if like i need a ecu or just the throdle body intake hole head idn any thing a bout a 89 Zc kus ive nvere hurd of a Zc was wonderin if i should build a zc vtec or a mini me or a dohc zc

I've never heard of a "ZC" engine either. Are you looking at the right number? I think you will have D15B2 (16 valve) or D15B8 (8 valve). The 16 valve will naturally say "16 VALVE" in big letters on the valve cover. If you have the 8 valve it is a real dog, need to swap head or engine out before considering improving performance.

Putting the 4 injector system on is called DPFI to MPFI conversion, search for it. You replace the entire intake system (throttle body, manifold, and injectors) but not the head. Also you must change the ECU computer and rewire the car some.

That should be easy for the OP to identify. A DOHC has the spark plug holes and wires in the exact center of the head (between the camshafts); the SOHC models have them either toward the front or the back since the cam is in the center.

ok well i have the motor the dude befor me took out it is a d15b2 but the one he put in ses ZC and its a sohc

I was wrong. There are actually both SOHC and DOHC ZC engines. If you can locate the code numbers stamped on the engine, you can identify the specific ZC engine that you have here:

well the dude sed he had it imported straight jdm soo id say 3rd gen?
