Offroad Civic Question...

RE: Offroad Civic Question...
If you want to get involved in racing (rallycross, autocross, anything) keep in mind, you CAN do it in a stock car! you will be competing against other stock cars! I suggest just going out and trying it, making friends with other people in your region, and going from there. Plenty of seat time and help from your instructors will get you SO MUCH FURTHER than just throwing money at the car. Do youself a favor and just go out and try it. There are too many people on this forum who think they have race-prepared cars but have never even WATCHED a race, let alone participated. I'm sick of the "I can't afford the entry fees because I spent all my money modifying the car" excuse, I see it too often and it frustrates me to no end! Summer is almost over, people! get out there and DO something.
/END RANT!
p.s. windcalmer, this is not really directed at you specifically

That wasn't my point. The point was, experience is more important than modifications. Try to improve your skills rather than making your car better. I've been autocrossing for the entire season and I've only done tires and a front strut tower bar (and that was way at the beginning of the season). I can't imagine what it would have been like if I had to re-learn how to drive the car every week. What you're saying might apply to drag racing, but not to anything where it's 80% driver skill and 20% car

I get your point. I have a lot of experience driving trucks and jeeps off road at speed. I have done that for years. Why I asked was I am new to SpoCom and didn't know if the mods you needed to be competitive was different. I tottally agree with you on all poitn though. Thanks for the good post.
