Every 3K for me. Everytime I change the oil it just seems to run better and besides it is a little time consuming but not hard. And I also use syntetic oil because I love my civic and be sure to change the filter every time cuz i know some people change filter every other time which really doesn't make sense to put a clean oil in when the filter is dirty.

wow. yeah, if anything, change the OIL every other time, it will last longer than a filter. once a filter gets clogged to a point, it goes into bypass and it doesnt do ANYTHING.

Just bought new 2005 civic dx. Dealer said to come in at 3700 miles for 1st oil change. I read in manual that came with car "do not change oil in new car before recommended milage" which in the book calls for 5000 miles. I will be calling Honda Amerca to geet this settled once and for all...I hope

My dealer told me to change it at 3k...

I think that may have been the reason my Cavvie died...Noone told me I had to change my oil...so I hadn't changed it in close to 30,000 miles. :|

What's your opinion on the K&N oil filters??? They run for a lot more, but are they worth it? I use PureOne filters on the civic, but I can't say that I'm satisfied really with how they perform...

Nobody uses K&N??? Another question than....would it be beneficial if I stuck a magnet into the oil filter?

Spoon makes a drain plug with a magnet on it that you just screw into the drain hole. then you just clean it when you take it out. and for being Spoon, i dont think its outrageously expensive. like 20-30 bucks for that and a tranny one last i looked.
