So whats the deal with those little engine mount dampener dealios, I see them alot, but I never have figured out what they are really doing, besides looking cool. I assume it helps somehow with torque or something? Its the little thing in the 3rd of 4th pic over from the link in the first thread.

it's basically like another motor mount, I think you need a lot more power before it's necessary though

Exactly, I believe they're referred to as Torque Dampers and are used to reduce or even illiminate motor movement. My buddy put them in his GTI, and it completely illiminated the wheel hop caused by the motor moving. Beware though, that your cabin will shake a little bit more than stock.

my friends 2001 Impala could definately do with a toruqe dampener. Even with just I/H/E that thing shakes when it hits the rev limiter. I want that

Cool deal, I have seen them on ebay before, Always wondered where they fit in the scheme of things. Guess I will have to wait for some turbo before I even think about that. I am busy painting my calipers as we speak, ugg.. boring job.

thanks for the info.

My god. I want that car. How did they get that stance? Do you think they used wheel spacers?
