pretty lame question.
I am pretty new to civics, just sold a camaro and bought a 97 civic lx 5-speed. But i had a few choices. It was either a hach 5-speed, with a rusted sun roof, which was starting to rot out, an auto 2000 ex, or this one that I bought. I bought it because it was stick, and I wanted a fun little car. Well I would like if someone could give me the basical breakdown of the differences of these two cars.
97 civic lx 5speed, four door.
and a
97 civic ex, 5speed, two door.
Of course i know the obvious, and im not trying to be like "Tell me the sweet stuff im so fast blah blah blah" because i only have like 106 horseys. haha. but im trying to get my bearings on the basic differences of the types of civics.
Now make note, those civics are both as is, no vtec, no nothing ,as is.

RE: pretty lame question.
they are both single cams, but the ex does have vtec, and its pushin 128hp, i think, i know its somethin close to that. yours has 107, as does mine. the ex redlines at 6800adn the lx at 6200. i think the transmission gear ratios are slightly different as are the compression ratios, but i dont know theexact numbers. I have seen both engines be built, and become extremely fast, but it takes a lot of work and money. but both are very reliable and get good gas mileage
other than that, its just the obvious stuff like 2 and 4 door.

RE: pretty lame question.
ya thanks, and ya the sig is my car. i have an intake and exhaust, so maybe 115...maybe. but when you consider the engine wear over time, its prolly not near that, but im about to put a b18c1 engine in it if everything works out over the next couple of weeks. its the acuraintegra gsr engine in case you didn't know since you are new to hondas. so its will be pretty quick when i get that done.
