Default priming oil pump

when trying to prime my oil pump on my freshly built h22, i hear a metal on metal grinding noise coming from the crank side. i am scared to keep turning it over cause the noise is freaking me out.

I put oil in the hex access hole until it was coming out. what else can i do to get pressure or atleast get enough oil to stop the grinding? The oil pump is brand new as is every internal peice of the motor.

the dizzy, ecu and back up fuse are all disconnected btw.

Remove the oil pressure sensor and force oil under pressure into the oil system through that port. There are various devices to do that.

I would tear down the engine and inspect for the cause/sign of grinding if I were you. Especially, it is a freshly rebuilt engine, you don't want risk other newly installed parts by trying turning over.

if you did the build properly with resemble lube you should not hear grinding. take the spark plugs out pull the fuel pump fuse or disconnect the fuel pump and and crank it till the oil light goes out. do that after the grinding stops.

take the engine apart and fix it. you do not want to damage any new parts it not worth it. thats what i would do. you did not do something right. good luck
