EG is what people refer to the 92-95 civic model as. Not all 92-95 civics are actually EG's. For example, mine is a EJ1. Check you vin number, digit places 4, 5, and 6 are your actual model. I think only the 4 door 92-95 civic is an actual EG model.

As for what the letters EG stand for, i don't know, I've asked but I've yet to get a response as to what, if anything, EG stands for.

 

It doesn't stand for anything, it's just a chassis code

 

Perhaps it's because the 4 door LX was built in Japan? My 4door has the "Built in Japan" sticker but my bud who had a hatch, had the "Built in Canada" sticker under the hood.
