Default is redlining bad?

i have what my signature says, in my honda... i/h/e and the other minor stuff, my redline on the dx is 7,000. is it bad to take it to this rpm? i do not do it often at all, actually barely ever, but i was just wondering.

well first of all i odnt know how many times this topic has been covered.. but ya dont make it a habit, but honda motors are made to be high reving engines and the rev limiter stops the engine at a decent rpm so i doubt it will do anything

You will be safe as long as your not going past the redline. And like Method said, dont make it a habit or your will run into problems. You dont have a racecar so dont drive it like one.

Even after redline the limiter should keep it from overspinning.

I agree, don't make it a habit but hitting the limiter isn't going to blow it up.
