Removing the air bag

RE: Removing the air bag
Ok, begin by disconnecting battery. On the underside of your steering wheel is a center panel towards the back, pop it off. You will see the yellow airbag plug plugging into the wheel, and you should see an open male or female plug sitting there, disconnect the bag from the wheel, and insert that plug into the open one. Understand, your airbag has to receive voltage to go off, so if your battery is unplugged, there is no chance of voltage, but that does not mean dont be careful. Ok, so on the side of your steering wheel there will be a small tab on the left side, and a larger tab on the right, pop these off. There are 2 bolts holding the airbag in, but they are not phillips or flat head, they are the star pattern, i just dont know the technical name for it. I had to go out and buy the screwdriver, just look for the star shapped drivers, and they are numbered its a T-30 pattern. So, take out the two bolts, the airbag will pop out, and you will see the main nut on the steering column, i think its a 14mm. Take it off and bam, your wheel will pop off.

when you unhooked the wires did anything on your car stop working, ex. hazards, horn, brake lights?
