Replacing Shifter Bushing

Replacing Shifter Bushing
Does anyone know/have a DIY on replacing the shifter bushings?
I gave Honda a call, and they quoted me ~$150 in labour to replace + parts.[:'(]
Any tips or the level of difficulty would help.
thanks

RE: Replacing Shifter Bushing
its not hard at all!
2 bolts from the bottom on the shifter to pull the metal shield off the OEM bushing and put alittle oil on the end of the metal spike and just pull and twist it off...
then use the grease that SHOULD BE SUPPLIED with the new bushing or atleast the good urethane bushings.... and work your @ss off to squize that new sucker onto the metal spike... and the front is even easier! put the car in 3rd gear and remove the front bolt off the brake and use a screw driver to knock out the center metal sleeve and just pull off the outter rubber pictures and insert the new bushing and metal sleeve and just bolt it back up and your good.
VERY EASY! hardest part is geting the new bushing on the shifter spike... just lube it up good and roll it back and forth and work at it it will be hard!

RE: Replacing Shifter Bushing
well i just posted what you need to do
unless your loose linkage is in the shift rod..... then you must replace that whole piece.... no way around it really.
previous owner of my 94 either TRIED to replace it with a bolt or was to stupid to pull the pin in the rod to release the linkage....
this is the part that got trashed....
he had it BOLTED TOGETHER.... and the 2 swivel joint holes are different sizes so it wont work with a bolt! just foolish. so if that part is bad then replace the whole "shift rod" new is best since used could be worn just as bad
