This belonged to a lady that passed and I bought it from her daughter. Great shape and had what appears to be all of the maintenance records, which was performed at a freaking Mercedes dealership. This was her work vehicle. Her other was a Mercedes. Everything has been great for a year. Then, out of nowhere, this .................

 

just flush it out, you should be fine. ive seen that in old chevy's and ford's its a fungus that grows cause of the nice warm temps.

 

It does look like its something someone would do to stop a leak but that cant be anywhere good to drive. You may have to thoroughly clean out the engine block if that crap is in there

 

I know what it is............ transmission fluid in your coolant.... SERIOUSLY... i have had a few lovely ladies do this befor.

drain>refill. you should be set.

 

I drained it, flushed the system out with water. Then used Prestone Flush to clean it out and then followed that up with a long water flush. Cleaned all junk out of reservoir and changed out thermostat. Did that Saturday and so far so good.
