Default s2000 Cluster Swap Wiring Guide

Ok here it is. All EG EF EK DC2 gauge swaps.. Ugh, I just spent two hours doing this, hope it's appreciated.

I guess hook up all the power circuits to an ignition power source. Doesn't seem to have a wire for any memory circuit.

AP2 Clusters have a clock, and probably totally different wiring. This is for the 2000-2003 S2k Gauge Clusters

Holding down the SEL button will switch between KM/H and MPH
Pressing the + and - buttons will change the brightness of the cluster.

Connector A ----------------------------------------------- EG harness

EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG EG

1 BLU/RED (Seat belt reminder) --------------------------- BLU/WHT (B10 Seatbelt Light)

4 PNK (SRS) CONNECT TO +12V power (A10 IGNTION POWER) TO TURN OFF LIGHT (or correct wire if you have it)

6 YEL (Fuse 5) ------ONLY IN CANADA-ONLY IN CANADA-------- BLK/YEL (A10 IGNITION Power)

7 GRN/RED (Left turn signal (+)) ------------------------- GRN/BLU (A4 Left Turn) WORKS

8 GRN/YEL (Right turn signal (+))------------------------- GRN/BLU (A3 RightTurn) WORKS

9 RED/WHT (High beam (+)) -------------------------------- RED/GRN (B1 Highbeam) WORKS

If positive trigger high beam Connect A10 to ground, A9 to switch. If trigger to ground, Connect A9 to Power and A10 to switch. Probably situation 1.

10 RED/BLU (High beam (-)) ------------------------------- BLK (B6 Ground)

11 BLU/BLK (Trunk indicator) ----------------------------- GRN (B9 Trunk Open) WORKS

Connector B

2 RED/YEL (Fuse 45) -------------------------------------- BLK/YEL (A10 Power)

OK, B2 doesn't seem to do ANYTHING. I guess hook it up, I'll look for more details tomorrow.

B3 is the switch between bright and dim. I would connect it to (red/black A11 Gauge Lights)

3 RED/BLK (Circuit 11 – dash and console lights (+)) ----- +12 dims the cluster, so A11 or A12, someone test and I'll edit this.

4 YEL (Fuse 5) ------------------------------------------- BLK/YEL (A10 IGNITION Power)

9 GRN/WHT (E-brake indicator) ---------------------------- GRN/RED (B2 Brake Light) WORKS

11 WHT/BLU (Charging system indicator (-)) --------------- WHT/BLU (A5 Charging Light) WORKS

Two hours? To copy and paste?

You guess hook up all the power circuits to an ignition power source? Do you know if this even works?

I once had an AP1 cluster in my hands, ready to put in the car. Tried to wire it using basic information... nothing. It's ALOT harder than it looks... especially to get everything 100% functional such as the speedometer and the ECT gauge.

^lol, I think he copy/pasted what you quoted too

I think rywire.com makes a plug n' play harness (you have to buy VSS signal converter and other converters still though)

I think the speedometer signal converter was called 'speed healer' but I've heard that it's no longer made...

@cvcrcr99: copy and paste lol
@trust: yes there is some kind of harness thing for it, alot of people are doing it on HT now
@danomatic: all you need to do to the vss is convert it from analog to digital, it will take the analog data, convert it to digital and display it

Link?

@danomatic: all you need to do to the vss is convert it from analog to digital, it will take the analog data, convert it to digital and display it
How exactly do you do that?

Anyways, Danomatic.... this is what you are referring to I believe.

Supersize, read my post in the DIY section overhaul thread. I'll gladly quote it and post it here if you want. I didn't post it here originally since I understand you are trying to help out.

You're still missing the part about letting me know about all these DIYs you're supposedly posting so I can put them on the list.

Many people will tell you that I have defended you at times when it comes to the DIY stuff. I think you making DIY guides on how to chop, lower your car, etc are great. They are great since you know what you are talking about regarding that. I was actually speaking with wellfed and nike about you being able to re-do all the DIY's in the Intro. section that has to do with avatars, pictures, and all that stuff. You're good with that.

DIY, Install Guide, Guide, How To:, are all the same things.

I would never try to come off as a d!ck, especially to members who are active and contribute to help the forum. I appreciate your effort, but try and understand where I am coming from. People see the "guide", feel they can do it, start, realize half way through that the guide isn't complete, and get pissed when no one can help them and leave the site. Sorry if you feel the way you do.

nah i completely understand what your saying, the reason i was posting them was because we were suppost to be adding all these new ones to bring people in, and if they have questions, why would they pm me when they can post it in the topic itself?

questions to me = just me being able to answer
questions on the topic = everyone being able to answer

ya know what i mean? i just dont understand how me posting diy's is going to **** someone off. And how did you defend me on the diy's? i was told my greddy that "my way to help" would be to copy and paste diy's and give credit to the OP's and give a link.. what, people dont want me posting diy's because im suppost to be the post ***** who dont care about the site and just start fights with people? i mean if you dont want me to post technical diy's, i wont, i just diddnt know where it was comming from because on one hand, im being told i can help out the site by posting stuff, and on the other hand, im seeing that diy's shouldnt be posted by people who dont know what their doin.. its whatever tho, next time im ****** around in photoshop, ill make some more diy's
