It improves torque (a little) but yea, mostly throttle response. That's still important though and makes a big difference. The difference from installing polyurethane motor mount inserts was astounding (not in numbers, but just the overall feeling of the throttle response).

And the engine damper doesn't really keep the chassis from shaking, it actually makes it shake more. It's making the engine more solid to the chassis (same overall effect of poly inserts) so that the engine twists less and more power makes it to the wheels.

Ya i need a deeper socket set than what i have now, to remove the nuts for the NRG damper.
I hope i can set the shock up rite. I'm thinking about going to an advance auto, don't they have a tool loaning system?

Stu - if an engine damper doesn't dampen vibrations from the engine, why is it called an engine damper? And if it makes the engine shake the car more, why are they installed from the factory on a good many cars? Also, I'd like to see independent dyno testing before I believe they gain any torque at all.

Enigma - if he's running an auto, he's probably slower than you; I was under the assumption he had a manual.

It doesn't improve torque, you just might recover the torque a little earlier on on a dyno pull. Once the car is in gear and in motion with the engine "torqued" during acceleration after the clutch has grabbed, you're not going to see any gains. All it does is make the car have a sportier feel in between shifts with an improved feel.
