What brands and models do yall reccomend for a security system? I was looking at the Viper 791xv. Looks pretty good..... Also what brand and model of radar detector have yall used and found most effective? Got a ticket two days ago that would have been easily prevented with one.

 

i have the viper 5000, i like it..i like the pager idea, any viper will be good tho

 

i have the 791xv and its great. u can add many things to it, such as motion sensors, mercury switches, more sirens, door poppers, etc. It has a good long range too. Radar detectors: i work at best buy (dont shop there unless u can get employee discount=fat $$$) and we sell viper and escort radar detectors. i borrowed an escort 8500x and took it to vegas and the thing was flawless. 2.4 mile range, programmable, different modes, and it detected every cop with plenty of time to slow down. over hills and around bends flawlessly, and it tells u the kind of radar its detecting so the unimportant ones can be dismissed. hope that helps

I know that viper is a reputable brand, and they have this one radar detector that was in one of my mags that goes on your liscence plate frame and in the testing it worked flawlessy. It also scrambles their signal so that they cant get a read on you.

 

How much did the the 791xv cost to buy and install? If you did it at bestbuy and got a discount how much do you think it would be for someone without a discount? If they even do those I am not sure.

 

if u can get an employee to buy it for you its only $177 (discouted from $509). You just have to find someone to install it for u or do it yourself.
