Shifter help making my own shift knob

Default Shifter help making my own shift ****

OK I am in a machinist program and I decided to make my own aluminum shift **** its goin ggood but I have a 7th gen civic and I dont know how to take the shifter off every time I turn it the whole shift boot comes with it if I but my own shift **** on it will it still hold up my shift boot?

ok I figured it out all I had to do is pull but now my shift boot doesnt stay up with the new hift **** so I took it off

Try wrapping a zip tie or rubber bands around the shift rod under neath the top of the boot and it will hold it up nice like this Name:  untitled-1.jpg
