Default should i buy this?? 1993 honda civic si hb

Hi, my name is Ryan and ive been reading here for a while and ive been learning alot so i became a member, well anyway i am 16 years old and i want a civic so i found this 1993 Honda Civic SI hatchback but it says said they did a motor swap and i dont know if the new engine is a D16Z6 engine and i would like to know...here is the link with pics http://modesto.craigslist.org/car/375249003.html

They say it has vtec. I'm guessing it's a d16y8 because of the cover. I'm pretty sure all of the z6's have VTEC on the cover and the y8 is like the one pictured. Someone will be along to correct me or say I was right. I'm pretty sure I'm correct but you never know.

if it is a first car i would try to find something in a little bit better condition. if you are willing to put in some serious work on it then go for it (at least that is what ive been told. you can find better civics for 2500 with less than 260k and in better conditon engine wise. see if they have any of the recieptsas well for the stuff they have bought.

That does not look like a Z6 or a Y8, it does not have a intake manifold of either. For $2500 you can buy one with a Z6 in it stock. Do not lower yourself top "jump" on something because you want a car. Chill out and keep a look out and you can get alot better deal than that.

ya marty im not gonna jump on anything but i was just wondering because I want a EG SI hatchback but i will keep looking, thank you for all your help

also i am specifically looking for an EG Civic SI hatchback so i think it might be a little tough.

Hey no problem, where are you located and I'll help ya look a little. I have a thing about finding cars like that. Dont let this be the only reason your on HCF though. Go introduce yourself in off topic and the new member section, plenty are on here and will help you find something.
