Right now I just sold my 95 Toyoata 4runner, everything was stock... I want to get a Honda civic and do like basic engine mods and stuff like that. I want a car with a VTEC enginie. What civic should I get? Preferably in the 94-95 range adn about 3500$ for the car? I don't know much about the engines so this will be my first car with all that stuff... thanks

 

3,500? you can probably set your hands on a NICE 95 EX with d16y8 i belive is inside of them... or a d16y6 if you wait a bit you can prob graba nice 2000 si for like 5 grand

 

Do you think it would be woth it to buy a '99-'00 EX instead of an SI so you can use that extra money you would've spent on just the base SI to mod up the EX?

 

would a 1996 Honda Civic EX Sedan be decent?

 

Yeah they are nice. It comes with V-tec engine

 

95 ex's have the d16z6 sohc vtec

 

Obviously it's SOHC .....Only the Si that I own is DOHC

 

personally i dotn like sedans so i'd say go with a coupe but its all in what you like partna. plus 5k for a 2000 si? unlikely maybe 7k

I got my 2000 Si almost 3yrs ago for $ 8,000 out the door with all the fees and title change. My car was completely stock with only 43,264 Miles on it. At that time they where an average of 14,000 to 16,500. Thats why I got my car cash from a small dealer.
***My Friend just bought 00 Si for 12,000 already finance from the dealer. with about 80,000 miles on it and my car just went over 56,000 miles.

 

I got my 1998 EX with a 5 speed for $3700.

great car, definitely a fun car to drive with lots of room for improvement
