Squeek when braking?
i installed front brake pads about 2 years ago and installed new front rotors about a month ago.
all of a sidden, getting squeek when brakes are applied.
pads are not worn, what else could be the problem?
2000 ex coupe.

RE: Squeek when braking?
Sometimes cheap pads will do that.At the store you can buy disk brake quiet real cheap. You know that stuff they try to sell you at advance or autozone with the pads.If thats not the problem look and see if anything is out of place.

sounds like the old pads are not mating well with the new rotors (differences in wear patterns, etc.). Pull the pads out to see if they are glazing over, or not wearing evenly. You can try rough-sanding them, that might help, it might not. While you're in there, make sure all the bolts are torqued to spec.

RE: Squeek when braking?
i removed my pads today and put the squuek compound on them and reinstalled them. ran into a problem.
on the passenger side, the lower bolt does not tighten fully, i mean you can continue turning it. it doesnt come out and the caliper is not loose. the drivers side does tighten up..
any idea what the problem could be?
i took car for a test drive and didnt hear any squeeks.
please any advice is appreciated....
