SRS light stays on
Hi All,
When I drove to work this morning, the SRS light of my Honda Civic VTEC-E out of 1997 did not switch off after I started the engine. Normally the light burns for approximately 4/5 seconds when I just started the engine, and after that it switches off. This time it didn't and kept on burning during the whole trip to work (approximately 15min drive).
Could someone tell me how this is possible, what the cause is, what the risks are and how it can be solved?
I'm about to do a long trip tomorrow (300+ kilometers) and I'd like to know if I can just start driving with a 'safe feeling', without thoughts and risk of getting stranded next to the road!
Thanks a lot in advance!
Regards,
Betermans.

That happened to my 4 door, I took it into the dealer. They checked it out and reset the light. They said if it happened again I would need a new SRS control module. It never happened again.
Its not hard to reset the light. I've had it come on in my 03 Si because I started the car with the seats out.
I would start with resetting the light your self, if the module is malfunctioning it will stay on again.
