state inspection

Default state inspection

Im gonna bring my civic honda for state inspection(NY) tomorrow ,but im not sure if its ok to have inspection with SRI and full catback magnaflow? can somebody help me ,is it possible?

i believe some inspections differ for each state. generally, they just check to make sure everything is in proper, safe working order. they'll check all the exterior lights and check the lights on the guage cluster(make sure Check Engine light is off and Air Bag light is off). they'll check suspension components like shocks to make sure they arnt leaking and are safe. things like that.

Default so no big deal on intake

he's saying he's not sure, but he listed the things that most states do. NY may or may not let you have non CARB approved intake and/or catback.
if they make you have CARB approved then you're screwed if it's not a name brand intake. I'm not sure if magnaflow is CARB approved, but i'd imagine so.

I think it will be OK. California is the one with really strict rules. Other places any sort of intakes and cat-backs are acceptable because you still have all the factory emission controls in place.
