Default stereo installation

Hi, I recently purchased a honda civic si 2007 and wanted to know if anyone woulds have any suggestions about installing an audio system in the car. The only problem that I am seeing with this is the whole dashboard is the stereo, so I am waundering if it can be done. Thanks.

the stereo that's in those cars is sick already! why would you want to replace it?

besides, in some of these new cars, so much is wired into the "stereo system". it's not like back in the olden days of simple cars with simple fixes. they make it complicated so that you HAVE to deal with their dealerships/shops.

good luck, and if anyone else knows more about it than I do, please have at it

Have you looked at you warranty info to make sure it don't void it putting a aftermarket stero in it.

There are kits available. You need to replace the entire dash piece there to make it work as the entire middle section is technically the "face plate" for the stereo. It can be done. You may loose steering wheel control. There are some adapters that will allow you to keep those controls, though - look at Crutchfield.

The stereo stock is pretty sweet, but it's not "audiophile" quality if that is what you are looking for.

Go to 8thcivic.com, they got it all down there. Pretty extensive retrofit, though.
Maybe try replacing speakers first. Thats what I plan to do, after the warranty expires, though.
