Well, it's not easy, but it's do-able. A shop usually charges form $450-$700 bucks to change timing belt and water pump, so it's pretty economical to do it yourself, that is,unless you have no mechanical inclinations. If you don't know your way around the wrenches you can totally destroy your motor and end up costing yourself more than a timing belt change.

my 2000 ex coupe was manufactured in May 2000 (a late model), no mileage was put on it until October 2000, so that means i can wait until October 2007 until i need it changed, correct?
78,800 miles on her.

RE: Tming belt??
honda recommends 105k for a timing belt change I believe. it doesn't hurt to have it done sooner, but I know my 98 wasn't done until this year around 115k and it was fine
cost me around $450 for timing belt, water pump & serp belts, but I get a shop discount

RE: Tming belt??
I talked to the local honda dealer and they recommend changing it around 100,000 miles. They actually told me to wait until the 100,000 instead of getting it done earlier. The dealer quoted me 408 bucks to change timing belt and water pump. Believe it was something like 100 for parts and 300 for the labor.
It is doable, but your screw one thing up and it's an expensive repair!
