Just saw a lovely looking 1998 type r for sale, so i thought id check the insurance quote... an extra 25bhp and an lsd, maybe £100 more to insure? no. £2000 more. ****ing hell!

almost all acuras have high insurance rates. insurance companies love 'em.

i guess that shoots down my plans to get a type R one day...

After you turn 21,get married, safe driver discount, membership discount,and a clean driving record.multiple car,When I got all of these discounts my rates dropped like crazy.

I got a really good insurance quote for an integra type-r, only £100 more than what im paying now, probably go up once it started to get modified tho.

Things are a bit diffirent over here in the UK my friend,bolt on things you dont tell cos you could take them off if you crashed therefore when they check your car it will be stock. but things like an exhaust or engine transplant you would be crazy not to tell, over here if they even suspect your hiding something they will turn up at your house to check your car out, it happend to a friend of mine.

I guess that a bonus to living in the States. I feels you though on the high rates. Im 17, and the Si fell under the "sports car" category, so thats a couple hundred extra for me to insure. I guess Ill just have to be wreck free and wait.

I wish I could just go out and buy a Type-R instead of modding the hell out of a hatchback. Can you get the GBDM gauges? I believe they go up to 180 mph. If you can get um, we might need to talk.
