Might sound like a dumb question, but me and my friend were wondering why honda has not brought the type-r to USDM yet?

i think it has to do with the emissions test.

Has nothing to do with it, there is not a market here for it. It's a proven fact that companies do not make a good proffit on short run, limited production, single minded production cars(SRT-4, ARC Viper, ZR-1 Vette, GS-X Eclipse, S2000 are all examples of this)
