Ultimate Daily Driver
Well im looking to get a Civic as a daily driver. I am a teen so i don't have too much cash pileing in so please just tell me what are the basic essentials engine wise as far as what should i get to run because i rather make my car an appearance car because im not a big fan of speed. With that being said please post some things for me and again don't ask for my budget. The sky is the limit so let me hear it.

Look for a 1992 to 1995 model Civic. Since you don't care for speed just get a DX with the 1500 cc non-VTEC engine. But realize the automatic ones are really slow, manual is better. Engines and transmissions can be switched around later if you want to.
In my opinion that was the best version. Those years (they're all essentially identical cars) have slightly better gas mileage and simpler hardware than the later ones.

Dude...quit being bias^
Any model and year are great, I mean come on they're civics!
Im 17 so Im probably your age..but I have a 97 sedan it isn't insanly fast but its simple and fun.
Simple lip kits (mugen/type r/oem/spoon/etc.) will improve apperance greatly. Rims also! I wouldn't go any bigger than 16 inch on a civic, but thats just my opinion..feel free to ask me any questions youd like.

92-95 civics are definitely slightly more customizable than 96-00 civics.
mainly because 96-00 ecu's are not tunable and you have to convert to OBD1 (92-95 ECU version) to tune...
also, on a 96-00 DX or LX, to get a header you must convert to EX exhaust setup. this is also pretty inconvenient.
when i say slightly more customizable i mean slightly. those are the only two things i can think of that make the 92-95 easier to customize.
of course those two problems can be fixed when you run into them, but it's definitely easier on the 92-95 because you won't run into these problems.
and the other thing about EKs is almost everyone who has a civic has an EK. i see wayyyy too many of them.
