Underdrive Pulley

RE: Underdrive Pulley
you say "how much could it add" yet you list it as a mod in your sig??
Gains aren't much... I'd guess 3-5hp. Be careful if you are running alot of things which draw power from your alternator such as alot of lighting, large audio setups, etc...

RE: Underdrive Pulley
I wouldnt expect too much from just an underdrive pulley set. The F-body guys i used to roll with frequently only found themselves gaining about 5-7 at the wheels (dyno proven), and thats on a detuned 300 tq v8. Assuming the parasitic drag caused by overdrive pulleys is constant, that would put you gaining only about 2 hp to the wheels. Im not saying the % loss is constant, but I dont think my figures are too far off from what you will find.
Only one way to find out, dyno your car now, put pulleys on, and dyno again

RE: Underdrive Pulley
Well it all depends on where you go and if you are having a group 'dyno day' or other special offer. I mean we have places around here in cincinnati who offer specials such as an hour of dyno tuning for 65 dollars. But Ive also seen car clubs get the dyno for an entire day and one run on the dyno for some baseline numbers only cost them about $15 - $20.
