So my 90 ef has a little bit of a problem. The steering rack is **** and its basically like driving a boat. Its causing me some major problems. So I started researching pricing. So far the cheapest thing I've found was on rock auto for $110. However it doesn't look exactly like the rack and pinion shown otherwise for my car on several other sites and at local shops like Autozone. However all the basic necessary parts are in the correct place and it seems to be the correct overall length, and is designated for my car.

So my question is has anyone used these "upgraded" rack and pinions? I wouldn't dare think of doing it unless I thought it would be a cheap but effective way to stop the drivability issues. But money and time are in short supply. My alignment is out and I've already had to replace a couple tires, and the even they have begun to wear thin.
