V TEC/ NON V TEC WHATS THE DIFFERENCE

RE: V TEC/ NON V TEC WHATS THE DIFFERENCE
K series is a great engine, but the swaps are still kind of trial and error. and still cost an arm and a leg. with a b series swap, you will need just about everything attached to the motor and trans from the donor car. as bad as that sounds, most swaps come with it all. and its usually all included in the price. a few things that are occasionally left out are the shift linkage, and the axles. youll need those from the si(r) or integra that your motor comes out of. if you wanted to just add vtec, then you could do a head swap. then all you REALLY need is the head and ecu. and i believe the distributor and plugs, wires, and a timing belt. you would get a little more power from using the manifolds from the vtec engine, but its possible with your stock ones. and that only will work if its a sohc vtec BTW, you cant put a dohc head onto a sohc block.

if your looking for a simple bolt in engine a d16y8 will be it. Its from the si and the most wiring you will have to do is for vtec system. i would also look in to getting its ecu and tranny if you want the most power from it.
