Default Valve train adjustment?

I gots a D16Y7 (non v-tec) and in the near future I would like to check (and adjust) the valvetrain. I think I know how (see below) but if I'm wrong, could someone tell me the right way to do it?

disconnect battery and remove spark plugs
rotate engine til cyl #1 is TDC intake stroke
loosen locknut for intake valvewith wrench
adjust clearance with screwdriver (I think the clearance spec is under the hood somewhere)
tighten locknut and recheck
repeat until satisfied, move to exhaust vave, start again.

repeat on all cylinders

double check everything, check once more, then go for a cruise

is this right? close? way off base?
