I would love to see factual evidence to back that up.

After reading it, I think I'm going to go with Valvoline SynPower.

RE: what best for oil change?
It is Ironic that the oil bible guy would recommend Valvoline Synthetic??? I distinctly remember the poster saying on the following fourms in the past really bagging on it Val Syn due to weak amounts of additives in the oil. Maybe they changed it in the last years or so? According to the guys who do analysis of fresh and used oil for a hobby yes they need to get a life - yet the info is there to be gleaned for your benefit. @ http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/

There is huge volume of info to be gleaned from that site. You can get lost for days in there. Sure there is better oil than Mobil 1 or even Mobil 1 Extended drain etc. but the cost is unreasonable for most unless you have a vested interest in selling oil your selves. You just need to strike a decent cost benefit ratio and go with it. I will never ever run a non synthetic oil in the winter ever again from what I now have learned. Most engine wear occurs on cold start up. Sure the Honda manual say you can drive normally after 30 seconds or so, but I never dog a motor unless the oil has had a chance to warm up.
I found this on the forum http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...1_Brochure.pdf
Regardless I don't buy Mobil 1 anymore. I will phasing it out with Shell Rotella 5w-40 Synthetic a Diesel rated oil which strikes a happy compromise between cost a quality. Yes if I buy a new 2007 Si Sedan I will run 5w-30 during the warranty to keep the warranty terms happy. It would probably run happy fine with the 40 number just might hurt economy slightly.
YMMV

The cheap Super Tech oil is not bad stuff but why not better the terms and buy the Super Tech 100% Synthetic instead? Faster flow on start up, better for your engine and lasts longer. Even better yet in the Shell Rotella Synthetic 5w-40 diesel rated oil that gets rave reviews on www.bobistheoilguy.com This stuff doesn't have the flashy marketing of Mobil 1 or a cool looking bottle or jug but the oil analysis results speak loudly!
