What did you give up for your Civic

I gave up my 2005 Honda Civic EX coupe for the 2014 Honda Civic EX Coupe. The 2005 had 100K miles on it and it was time to replace the timing belt, I also had issues with an air bag sensor that was creating electrical resistance and setting off the air bad light. Looking back I would I would have got the Si, but trying to get one of those in Idaho was a huge wait. But at least I got the gas mileage which I need for the long commute.

I gave up a 2000 chevy impala for a 1995 civic coupe with h23
gave the 95 coupe up for 1999 honda accord sedan...gave that up for a 2010 nissan sentra, then got a 2013 nissan sentra, now all i have is a 1999 civic si turbo, (so far best car i've had)...

I gave up a 2009 Mini Cooper that was riddled with mechanical and electrical problems by 60K miles. Rather than continuing to pay for these surprises with money I don't have, I decided to go with a 94 Civic DX Hatchback that had about 13K miles when I got it. So far it has proven itself to have better MPG and be a lot more fun to drive. Plus it's simple enough that even a dimwit like me can work on it!

Honda stole me away from Saturn. Talk about a karmic rear-end kicking. I couldn't deal with GM knowingly letting defects and problems linger for years. Or the way they operated, or designed the cars. It wasn't just the ignition; but also the electric steering motor they continued to use despite knowing its failure rate; in addition to the 2.4's variable valve timing solenoid they knew started failing around 80,000 mi (which stretched timing chains to failure) but still continue to use this day. That just isn't doing things right and running a business I could stand to remotely support. The Civic Si beat out the Focus ST because of being more defect-free, no turbo worries, and better on insurance and long-term worth.

I gave up a 99 Tahoe for the POS 05 Civic that now has a bad bearing in the final drive of it's automatic transmission at only 97K miles. I wish I still had the Tahoe because 10 years later the guy who bought it from me is still driving it at over 250K miles without any major issues.
