RE: what kind of oil do you use?
Um, my gen 6 civic says it takes 5w-30...in the manual and on the cap.
I started using regular dino oil and so I didnt switch over to synthetic. Heard you can get leaks if you've been running regular oil for many miles and make the switch over to synthetic.
I guess a lot of people will say save your money, just buy regular 5w-30 and make sure you change oil/filter every 3K, but I've been running Castrol GTX High Mileage Oil and a purolator pure one oil filter in my civic (248,000 miles) and my Jeep (145,000 miles) for awhile now. Still original engines, knock on wood, neither burn oil and they're still running strong....

5w30 because thats what it says on my D16Y7's cap.
My dad always used Quaker State oil in his cars, so thats what I use. Seems to be good stuff.
Is it a good idea to go to the Honda dealer and get factory filters, or are all oil filters pretty much the same other than the premium ones like K&N?
