Default What are these for?!

These came with the CAI I recently ordered. It's an ebay one, so of course there were no instructions...

i think they're supposed to be brackets to mount your intake to your strut bolts so the intake isn't wobbling around, but i have yet to see how they work with eBay intakes. I've seen it work with AEM and other name brand intakes, but with the eBay intakes theres no way to attach it to the intake pipe, so idk. As for the black thing, yeah i have no idea but it's come with every eBay intake i've seen as well.

My only guess is that the black thing would go around the hole in the frame on the EX/Si to protect the CAI, but that hole isn't there on the DX/LX.

liar [8D]. youve seen pictures of my no-name intake with it on... Ill see if I cant find pics of how I set it up.

And yeah, the black thing is to go around the hole on ex/sis, Im assuming to keep the metal to metal contact (and the sound that comes with it) to a minimum.

*edit: found the pic... I have an SRI, but youll want to do the same thing with a CAI

black strip is to cover the cut out and from cutting you when you remove or install it. the bracket is just a cheap alternative for them so they don't have to put more designing and work into the intake.
