Default What is the thing behind front bumper

I just got in accident, front bumper fell off,
Front bar (metal bended little bit)
One light cover cracked.

But I am not sure what is the thing behind the front bumper.
Air filter, if it is, it is easy to replace. Dont tell me it is radiator.

How much you think the fix will be?

I am new and I want to learn about that so I can be more knowledgeable about car.

thanks for the help.

I believe the condenser is in front and the radiator is rear of it.

the condenser is not too expensive, I think the bended steel bar is most expensive then.

Does the air conditioner still work? If the condenser actually broke and let the refrigerant escape, you would note that the A/C no longer gets cold. If it does still get cold you probably don't need to replace the condenser.

I havent tried it yet.

Appraisal came back with $1700.
I have high deductible like $1000. Well...

Also need Auto body shop's estimate.

Did the quote include a new condenser?

Beware of body shops replacing condensers. They often don't have the proper equipment or expertise for A/C work.

Replacing a condenser is not that difficult. Buy a new one as well as the necessary O-rings and receiver/dryer and install them yourself. Then have a bonafide A/C shop evacuate, leak check, and recharge with oil and refrigerant.
