If you wait to look at it, the repair will require new pads, rotor and possibly a caliper if it gets damaged as well.
Does the school have any kind of auto shop?
Maybe do a post to see if there is someone in the area you are at that can help you. I would do it but you are on the wrong coast
I could try that, but I have access to none of that. What I am doing right now is not driving at all. I'm going to try and make it home once this semester is over. Then my friend works at a garage and has volunteered to fix it for free. If I need new break pads it is all I have to buy. It has also been snowing here and the ground is just a nasty slush not even a decent coating of snow. That should make driving interesting as well. First time not having a manual transmission, and I'm not looking forward to it.

2000 Civic EX Turbo with 181,000 miles on it, owned for 4.5 years

Currently only issues are rattling noises while idling coming from center dash by radio, somewhere on the rear deck, and by the sunroof. Happened after some Hasport mounts.

And I have harder time shifting into 3rd gear at higher rpms, if I rev just a tad before shifting it shifts smoothly.
