I'm new to Honda Civics and I bought my first one just a couple of weeks ago, an 05 LX 4-door. I looked at the 06's before buying the '05 but I didn't like them. I didn't like the visibility from the drivier's seat. It was hard to tell where the edge of the front end was and backing it up was really hard. Also the one I drove was really jumpy off the start. I really had to feather the gas pedal to keep it from lurching forward too hard. I was otherwise impressed by how much power the car had. The look of the 06 is still growing on me but I like the look of the '05 body style better. The '06's style still looks strange to me. This is only my opininion and some may not like it. I'm not trying to make enemies here so early on, but I was wondering if anyone else out there felt the same.

 

I don't like the EM2, but i like the new civics. I would get a 2 door, i dunno about the back on the 4 door.

 

i personally think the 01-05 sedans are butt ugly.

the 96-2000 sedans are the best looking.

 

I like em...they have an almost agressive stance.

 

right on, 99-00 especially.

The new ones are nice tho, I can dig 'em.

 

99-00 are the best! lol..i never like the newer models but i kinda like the 01-02 now when there done up..the 06 are more of a regular 4 door sedan now, bigger..the si is pretty cool tho, but like i sead there getting big, honda needs to go back to its small rutes like the 90s model, small light, little tuner car ..they kinda of did that with the new fit, but i guess no one wants the small cars anymore..everyones looking for big

 

i also think they are strange looking. the new coupes arent bad looking but i think that the 4 doors are pretty ugly.

 

I like the look of the 06 usdm si coupe a lot, also the 06 ukdm hatch, although that will look much better than it does now in 3 door type-r form.

 

I think Honda is getting into some uber-BMW thing with the 06 sedans--can't we keep things small and simple?

I did check out a few Fits at the dealership last week, and I was thinking about getting one, because it reminded me of my first Civic (82), except:

1. $14,000! You gotta be kidding!
2. Do I really want to sit on the gas tank?

So I scored a 2003 Civic DX for 2/3 or less the price. I'm happy.

 

I love mine...though I don't care for the 4 door all that much. Guess I'm just a coupe guy...
