Rite to all the people ******* VW all i can say is that the American VWs aren't even made in Germany they are made in America. Also i drive a 28year old Mk1 Golf GTI and to this day i have had no rust problems and am still on the original engine and box,i have also owned Mk4 1.8t,mk4 v6 4motion,mk5 GT TDI and mk5 GT and the i had no problems with any of them but being in Europe all those cars were made in Germany. So basically American built VWs might be crap so i'll reserve my opinion about manufacturing standards.Rant over i'd say buy a Civic or a Skoda(have faith on the skoda thing).

 

gotta love civics cheap price, cheap maintenance, fun to drive, good on gas, all the good stuff

i drive a 04 civic. 115k on it so far, no major problems yet, not even minor ones actually.. only things i had to get replaced were brake pads :P we've never took it to honda for maintenance either lol except for changing transmission/engine oil

2 major disadvantages with this car
1. with ac on + a bunch of people, its powerless (but i guess the new civics would be a lot better with 140hp)
2. feels unsafe with wind and of course winter (snow)

If you want the ability to find parts easy...have a long lasting car...and a sporty one at that then get a civic. They also have great gas mileage considerin gas keeps goin up almost everyday.
