The door visor (sometimes called rain/wind guard) prevents rain to get in the car when you roll down the window just a little to cool down the interior. On Amazon,

the prices can be roughly separated in two groups: <= $30 and >= $90, rarely in between. So I think there must be some fundamental difference between the two groups. What is this difference?

its just like any other product there's quality and there's quantity the higher priced ones use better thicker materials not to mention actual R&D behind the product reguarding size,shape,aerodynamics and especially fitmeant but the most important aspect of the higher quality visors like WeatherTech is they fit directly into the window track the cheap visors and those oem honda visors use double sided tape to stick to the car.i don't know about you but id rather not glue anything to the outside of my car.

 

Thank you! By "OEM Honda Visors", that doesn't include the $148 genuine Honda ones. Right? Not sure if they're taped on or not. So the WeatherTech ones are better because they fit into the window track instead of using tape. On the Amazon page, I can't find this brand for Civic. I'll find their web site and search. yes weathertech go into the channel the cheaper ones use sticky tape the oem im not sure if they use tape or anchor's or both. i personally use weathertech visors i love them.

 

Take a look at AVS window visors also. They have good quality and are cheaper than the weathertech.

And take into consideration what most of the responses here have pertaining to quantity or quality, material used, etc. And don't forget, you're also paying for the brand's name. In short, there's really no best choice for the general population. This works as "to each their own".

 

i think most of that is BS tape on is not an easier process since everything needs to be perfectly lined up by hand then what if you *** it up. better water intrusion is also BS that makes absolutely no sense. as for the in channel there's no installation or fitmeant problems if you buy name brand like weathertech. ive had my weathertechs for 6 years and they have never scratched,rattled or fallen out. and not to mention one serious thing they didn't mention is wind noise. the stick on visor are larger and protrude from the window and have jagged edges and are quite loud the inchannel are flush and low profile which drastically reduce wind noise and drag on the car at higher speeds.

 

It depends on the brand I guess.
