Default yargh, fuel system woes

O-tay. Filled the Rex up for the first time ever today. Got about 15 mi down the road and here comes sputter and lurch time. I depress the clutch, car idles fine. Under partial load in gear, car does the bunny hop. OK, so I coast into a parking lot to make sure something catastrophic hasn't occurred. Kick her into neutral, she idles like a champ @ 1k w/no fluctuation. I smell a bit of fuel. Look around thoroughly, no leaks. Must be fumes from somewhere. Check my fuel pressure. 35lbs. Good. Turn car off, let sit, crank up again. Headed back home. No issues whatsoever for 10mi. Here comes the bunny hop again. Against my better judgement, I downshift from 5th to 3rd, floor it. VTEC crossover. 8k, shift, 8k, shift. No probs whatsoever. Sooooo.... heres the deal. Partial throttle cruising in gear, problem. WOT, no problem. Idle, no prob. Any rev while out of gear, no prob. Car only misbehaves under a slight load. Gonna check fuel filter. I'm thinking I stirred up some debris when I filled her up. Anybody got any tips? Am I misdiagnosing the problem? Anything else I should address?

w t f haha

Swapping the fuel filter is a cheap and fairly easy thing to do. I'd agree that starting there and seeing what happens is the best choice of action.

Weak sparks will be the most apparent at lower rpm and heavy throttle.
