certain forums have certain rules dude, you can put avitars on here, basicly anything you want, and mxs is right, it can be a lot larger then it can be on other forums, ive been there

ok, what i am saying is with over 14,000 members avitars start to eat up some server time. Allowing people to link to offsite avitars you allow the user to choose one that is larger than 25KB which is almost impossible to get an animated gif with any decent amount of color or size.

I fail to see a down side to this. If an admin can let me know i will gladly to drop the subject.

Oh, and My04Civic i dont really see how this setting qualifies as a rule. There are very very few forums that do not allow to link to an offsite avitar!

Do not take any of this the wrong way. I am in no way bashing anyone. This is strictly constructive criticism to help improve the forum.

I don't have any control over this. Seriously. If it's such a big deal to you, you need to talk to Patrick, he runs the place.

The reason you can't link to an offsite avatar is because a 200KB avatar takes a long time to load compared to a 25kb avatar. People with dial up, bad connections etc don't need to be overloaded with graphics. The smaller the image, the less time it takes to upload. Sorry.
