Default Throttle response

What can i do to get better throttle response on my car. I have a d15b7, right now its stock. I just got my timing belt changed, since it was making a odd noise. Im planning on getting new intake, exhaust, headers....What can i do before those upgrades, any parts that could be replaced.

Your cylinder head.

Any parasitic drag you can get off the crank is good too.

The cylinder head. How much does that cost and what exactly is being done.

replacing the cylinder head with a VTEC capable head... will add about 10-15 hp, and will run you somewhere around $500-$800 installed
