Just bought a 2002 lx auto with 180,xxx. Car has been sitting for a year. Owner said it was overheating and he didn't know why..changed the water pump and hoses, didn't fix problem. He's younger and had a motorcylce and never fixed it.

I jumped the battery and the car started no problem and drove up on trailer.

Once I got it home, noticed there is a lot of oil all over the front and passenger side of the motor. Oil level looks good on dipstick. Checked under radiator cap and looked green with no white or discoloring. Didn't see if it smokes or if it bubbles out radiator while running and not at operating temp.

From reading other posts, I'm leaning towards a head gasket. I haven't driven the car, but plan to tomorrow to see exactly what is happening to better diagnose the issues.

In the mean time, are there any pro's on here with some advice on things to check or tests to do to help figure out what I'm up against?
