1991 Honda Civic LX turns, but won't start
Problem started about 3 weeks ago I believe. I'd get into the car and it would turn, but it just wouldn't fire up and start. Replaced the ignition coil and it worked fine, but a week later it started to do the same thing. Replaced the ignition coil again and distributor cap this time and it worked fine. Then today (one week later again) it starts to do the same thing.
It has 168K miles, a friend gave it to me since it was just sitting in his garage for a month after he got a new car and he didn't report any significant problems to me. He said once in a while if he would use the car, go inside for a few minutes and come back out then it wouldn't start for a while but would eventually fire up after a few tries. A spark plug wire also popped out of the cylinder the other day, but that was a one time thing. Electrical wiring is a bit corroded.
Any help on what I can try to do?

First thing to do on any 1988-1995 that sometimes works but sometimes cranks but won't start is this: https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...22/#post759855
The main relay can be checked-- when it is not in a mood to start-- turn the key on but don't crank. If the check engine light comes on and stays on it is likely the main relay. If working properly the check engine light will come on for 2 seconds then go out.
A spark plug wire popping out means that the plug is loose or broken, so pressure from the cylinder pops the wire out. Remove the plugs, ideally replace with new ones, and make sure they are properly tightened.
